Carnaval del Pueblo brings the hottest Latin rhythms to London once more as Burgess Park hosts the festival and parade.

Latin street party
Get ready for the biggest Latin festival in Europe as carnival parades, music, dancing and Latin culture celebrate the South American countries here in London. Setting off from Elephant and Castle and making its way across the city to Burgess Park, the Carnaval del Pueblo shows Londoners exactly how to have fun.

South American dance and music
Now in its 13th year, Carnaval del Pueblo is a festival of dance and music that just keeps getting bigger and bigger, with thousands of people flocking to see the hottest acts in Latin culture. Renowned for their sexy rhythms and saucy salsa dancing, the Latin American fiesta hosts a range of dance acts from Brazilian samba and Latin hip hop to Colombian salsa and Bolivian folklore.

Salsa and more
World famous acts with reputations for being the best in the business will be showing off their dance skills at the Carnaval del Pueblo 2012. This year's festival is bound to have an extra special touch as the event makes a welcome return after last year's absence, in a year when all eyes are on the UK and for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Activities for children
Not forgetting the kids, the Latin carnival is a great day out for families. There'll be plenty of things to keep the little ones entertained, from seeing the exotic float procession go by to taking part in a range of fun activities from workshops to face painting.

World class music
Highlight acts for the 2012 event include salsa music and more from Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, Bolivia and Ecuador. Many Latin American countries will be showcasing their music, dance, food and culture at the event.

The Carnaval Del Pueblo procession leaves from Elephant and Castle on Sunday 19th August 2012 and travels to Burgess Park at around 3pm.

The event is free to attend.
