London musical fans rejoice as Carousel tickets are now available to see opera legend and national icon Lesley Garrett take to the stage in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical, Carousel. Carousel tickets will enable London audiences to welcome the return of one of the musical world’s best loved musicals as it heads to the Savoy Theatre in November.
Carousel tickets will allow London musical fans to see the first major production in the city since the 1992 production at the National, and seeing as it’s such a well loved musical, that’s a very long time. No doubt Carousel tickets will be in steep demand, especially considering the talent both up on stage, and behind the scenes.
Joining opera legend Lesley Garrett on stage will be theatre favourites Alexandra Silber and Jeremiah James, who will be playing the young mill worker Julie Jordan and the smooth talking carousel worker Billy Bigelow respectively. Leslie Garrett will be playing Nettie, following on from her huge success as Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, offering her another chance to showcase her stunning soprano voice.
Behind the Carousel scenes will be director Lindsay Posner, and producer Kim Poster, reunited for the first time since their stunning production of Fiddler on the Roof last year. Carousel also boasts choreography from former Royal Ballet dancer Adam Cooper, star of Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake, so you can expect some perfectly orchestrated dancing and singing, live on the Savoy stage.
Carousel is undoubtedly one of the musical world’s most famous productions, not least due to its acclaimed score from musical legends, Rodgers and Hammerstein. Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical expertise means that Carousel boasts songs of the calibre of If I Loved You, The Carousel Waltz and You’ll Never Walk Alone.
