Take a journey into the unknown with the Cart Macabre at Old Vic Tunnels show. Part theatre, part art installation, the show has been two years in the making and is the latest project by innovative performance collective Living Structures.

Dream or nightmare?
Taking place throughout the extensive series of vaults and chambers beneath Waterloo Station that have been converted into a unique and atmospheric performance space by The Old Vic theatre, Cart Macabre at Old Vic Tunnels takes you on a dreamlike - or perhaps nightmarish - journey into the imagination. The show takes you on a fairground ride through an imagined landscape and explores the themes of isolation and disorientation.

Living Structures
Two years in the making, Cart Macabre at Old Vic Tunnels is the latest creation of contemporary theatre group Living Structures, in collaboration with The Old Vic. Tickets are limited to 32 per performance, which means that each show is likely to be an exclusive and intimate affair.

Wooden carriages
Promising a heightened sensory experience within the confines of the dark and subterranean tunnels under Waterloo Station, Cart Macabre at Old Vic Tunnels begins with you being ushered into wooden carriages by the performers. The carts are then transported through a series of multimedia environments and installations that draw inspiration from the themes of death, decay and purgatory, with the performances including everything from shadow puppetry to video clips.
