Celebrity Carol Concert

Celebrity Carol Concert

When

6.30pm, 17th December 2008

Where

St Pauls Church, Knightsbridge

Join celebrities for traditional Christmas songs at a celebrity carol concert for charity. The evening will be full of celebrities doing Christmas readings and solos, all to raise money for the charity Help the Aged.

Christmas Carols at a Famous Church
A Star for Christmas will be held at St Pauls Church in Knightsbridge, a church as popular for its architecture as its services. Consecrated in 1843, it is considered one of the most beautiful Victorian London church buildings. There’s no better location for a celebrity carol concert than a church that prides itself on its acoustics and stunning good looks.

Singing celebs
Celebrities will sing for charity in an evening hosted on 17th December 2008. Starting at 6.30pm famous faces expected to attend include Catherine Tate, Lionel Blair, June Whitfield and Roy Hudd. The evening will be compered by GMTV's Penny Smith so it's going to be another star studded affair. The Sylvia Young Theatre School will also be attending. The celebrities will do special Christmas readings and also solos, and they’ll be helped along by the ACM Gospel Choir.

An evening reception
After the carol singing there’ll be a reception with wine and canapes. Guests will have the chance to mingle with the celebrities as everyone celebrates the festive season. It’ll be the perfect opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit and do some star spotting all at the same time.

Sing for charity
Proceeds from the celebrity carol concert will go towards Help the Aged. And it's not just Christmas carols that will help you get into the festive spirit. The Dickens theme will really help you get into the mood for Christmas and let off some steam before braving the streets for more Christmas shopping.

A Star for Christmas celebrity carol concert takes place from 6.30pm on 17th December at St Pauls Church in Knightsbridge. Nearest tube: Knightsbridge or Hyde Park Corner (exit 4). Tickets are £18 adults, £5 children under 16 and senior citizens. For more information, call 020 7239 1922 or email events@helptheaged.org.uk.
