Taking place in Greenwich Park, the race promises to be an eye catching event as around a thousand Santas in fancy dress run five kilometres to raise money for charity. Competitors will be hoping that the festive atmosphere and crowd support will provide all the encouragement they need to cross the finish line in record time.

Worthwhile causes
Aiming to raise funds as well as more awareness on the importance of emotional health, the Samaritans are one organisation taking part in the charity Santa Run in London. With their 24 hour helpline staffed by over 16,000 volunteers, the Samaritans will be on hand to help people feeling low over the Christmas period. Other big names asking for your help in the charity Santa Run include the London Air Ambulance, Diabetes UK and the Menigitus Foundation.

Community event
With over 50 charities represented and crowds of spectators expected, the charity Santa Run aims to be an event to spread seasonal goodwill throughout the community. Children as young as eight can take part as long as they're joined by a parent or guardian, so families are welcome to join in the fun for their favourite charity.
