Charlie Chaplin exhibition
The London Film Museum plays host to this exciting permanent exhibition dedicated to the Godfather of comedy film acting. Featuring highlights from his film career and examining the early years of his life which inspired him to take to the stage, the Charlie Chaplin exhibition London event is certain to be a big hit with all classic film fans.

Chaplin's early life
Born in Lambeth in 1889, Charlie Chaplin's parents were both music hall performers and extremely poor, and as a consequence the theatre became a means of escapism for the child actor from an early age. At the Charlie Chaplin exhibition visitors can explore the world of the Victorian stage, and see how Chaplin made his theatrical debut in London.

Hollywood and moving pictures
Making the jump from stage to screen, Charlie Chaplin was one of the earliest heroes of the silent movies, and soon become one of the most famous both in the UK and America. Making the leap into cinema with the Keystone Comedy Company just before the First World War, Charlie Chaplin was soon a pioneering character of film comedy, as he directed and starred in his own films. At the Charlie Chaplin exhibition you can see two of his trademark props, the bowler hat and the cane, that became recognised around the world.

World famous comedy
For any fans of Charlie Chaplin or those that love the history of film, the Charlie Chaplin exhibition London event is not one to be missed. Following the biography of the renowned star onto his status as world famous actor, the exhibition ends by examining Chaplin's self imposed exile from America, his brief return to England where his last American film premiered, and his final days in Switzerland, planning two more films to be made in Britain.

The Charlie Chaplin exhibition at London Film Museum, County Hall takes place from 10am - 5pm, Monday - Friday, and 10am - 6pm Saturday and Sunday. For more information or to book tickets, phone 0207 202 7040.
