Keeping kids and families amused over the summer holidays, the childrens playground at Covent Garden features a massive sandpit, super-sized games and Punch and Judy shows, as well as a series of workshops and activities for all ages.

Running from Monday 10th August - Sunday 23rd August 2009, the childrens playground at Covent Garden is hosting a series of special events designed to keep kids entertained over their summer holidays in London. Part of The Kids Are Alright series of events at Covent Garden, children and their families can play in a giant sandpit, take part in juggling workshops, and take advantage of shopping and restaurant deals.
Kid's events at the Real Food Market
As well as all the Punch and Judy shows, face painting and balloon modelling on offer at the childrens playground at Covent Garden, kids can also take part in the food and drink related workshops at Real Food Market, which takes place in the Piazza on Thursday 13th August and Thursday 20th August. There's the chance to decorate cupcakes, make and mix raw chocolate, make some bees was candles, and sample some delicious toffee apples and candy floss.

A number of shops on and around the Piazza are joining in with all the child friendly fun with a series of special offers and promotions. Kids can stock up on sweets from around the world and get a free Cherry Ripe if they spend £5.00 or more at Cyber Candy, and there are also multibuy offers, competitions and prizes at Candy Cakes, Paperchase, Build-a-Bear Workshop, the Disney Store, and Bailey's Barrow Stall.
Meal deals
Families will also be able to dine out for less during The Kids Are Alright season, with kids eat free offers at Sophie's Steakhouse, Maxwell's Bar & Grill, Covent Garden Grill and Porters Restaurant. Creme de la Crepe will also be offering buy one, get one free on crepes from 5pm - 6pm during the promotion.
Events at the childrens playground at Covent Garden run from Monday 10th August - Sunday 23rd August 2009. The sandpit and playground are open throughout the day, and the workshops run from 1pm - 5pm daily. Admission is free.
