I went here with my friends few weeks ago for a girlie night out and had so much fun! We had to wait the queue for about 10 minutes, which wasn’t too long to be honest and once inside we loved it! The staff were friendly and very helpful (i misplaced my handbag beside a table and a security guard was very nice helped me to find it!)We had some very nice cocktails (recommended by the barman) and didn’t stop dancing all night the music was so good!! Yes it is 20.00 pounds to get in but I thought it was worth every penny! I’m sure we will be spending a a lot more nights out in chinawhite.
The club was horrible, totally pretentious... 2 and a half hours of my life which will never get back! the DJ was awful it seemed as if he had just mixed the sets earlier that day! not impressive and completely over priced, I order an apple sour shot and it was some home made yuck! which the bartender had mixed himself how cheap! I thought that the interior would be mind blowing with a lot of Chinese influences but it looks as though it would do with a lot of refurbishing, nothing special whatsoever didn't even feel tempted to take a picture!Furthermore there was no designated dance floor, so even dancing was somewhat of a struggle because you literally got pushed around from left, right and center. The only nice person there was the woman at the cloak room and the security woman doing bag checks.. £20 to get in, I wouldn't pay 20p I'd rather spend a night in Whetherspoons waste of an outfit and complete waste of my night! Will not be going there again!
where can I start? If you area a black or asian men then don't bother trying to get in unless you are a footballer, rapper or cricket player. Went there on saturday as part of a group 5 girls and 4 gents. The girl at the door called my friend the (birthday girl) to the side and said if you want to get in drop these two black guys Lol..and I thought wow is this 21st century London or the 1940s. So we decided to go some where else and my friends were shocked.
Went in on Saturday 28th April, party of us we'd pre-ordered our food, starters took over an hour to come, then same time for mains, 1 staff member extremely rude to us the whole night, starters were nice, mains weren't, puddings average. we had a mix up with one of the puddings, no offer of another option just told 'I'll get your order and show you what you've ordered!! when we objected wait staff came back with a tumbler of fresh fruit. Watch out if you have bottled water they just keep topping you up without asking, but didn't advise how much a bottle it was we spent £30 just on water!!! Strict dress code on website but plenty of people in club in jeans and trainers, very disappointing night, both the club and restaurant are very small and you are crammed in the club, thought it was going to be much better than it was, wouldn't go back again nor would we recommend it!!!!
We enjoyed a really good meal first and no intention of going to the club after dinner but we ended up having a drink table, eating drinking and spending much more than I thought but well worth it. Husbands birthday only once a year thank god.
Staff are rude from the bouncers, to the bar staff. Will make you feel worthless given half the chance. Queuing for ages for no reason. No atmosphere whatsoever in the dance floor. Music is trash. Got table service and had random amounts added to the bill. Poor poor night
i liked this club. the queue was a bit long time but the security man made me laugh! inside is really nice and the music was the best i have hear in london since i move here. i will go again many times
It is not a bad place to go out- good, contemporary music, easy public....but club's administration is very rude, especially security and bartenders. The whole entry process is terrible- they make you wait ages and then shout at you like in the Army:) Some girls are walking around and ask you to free seats while you are enjoying bottle of wine with couple of your friends, even when those seats are not reserved.
Went with my friends for the night out, perfect place to forget about outside world! Security staff very friendly even tough my friend was drunk and a bit arrogant! The bouncer on the re-entrance amazing he calmed the friend down in such a friendly manner!
Defintly coming back!
Went on Saturday - amazing girls!!! Definitely best club in London!
One star is well too much! Long story short, NYE2011, 50 quid each entry, no champagne given on entry as advertised, when asked barmaid where the champagne is was told there isn’t!? Totally overpriced, management went on quantity not quality a roundup of cattle!, I expect much more from the venue like this! Everyone on the pull, we went in two couples, girls went dancing and after 30secs bunch of the lads was trying to pull them out, WTF? A gay barman with mo, rude!!! You should learn your staff basic words like excuse me, sorry, thank you etc! A bold guy totally drank spilled drink on our girlfriends twice, no reaction from bouncers! The only good thing – music and two girls in cloakroom.... not enough to come back, tho.
we went to Chinawhite last night, amazing fun!!!! Find the barman called Strawberry, he is the funniest man in the whole club and very sexy
Just went on Saturday, had soooo much fun! it does take a whiel to get in as the queue was a little long but it was well worth it. really gud music and some very fit guys. the only problem was that the only guy in our group had scruffy converse on but he sweet talked the door girl and she let him in, LOL. we are going on NYE as well now, cant wait
This club wont suit everyone, at first I wondered if it would be my kind of place, the queue outside was full of good looking guys and girls and as I am from out of London I dont dress quite cool enough London Style, but the girl at the door, ticked my name and gave me a big smile and I was allowed in. The club was busy the music was good, a lot of music I had not heard before but that did not mean it was not good. The staff were nice and friendly, I spoke with one of the managers who was really friendly and showed me round the place. I had a great time. As said it wont suit everyone but then if you dont like it when you are inside, leave. I stayed till the end.
It's a tacky pick up joint!
Everyone is on the pull - it's no place for couples - just groups of girls and groups of boys. Sad.
Such a bad experience! Incredibly rude staff, unless you fancy being insulted and assaulted do not go there! They refused to give a coat and bag back to my friend despite she was holding her coatroom ticket in her hand.....
Rude doormen, rude staff, terrible club. Never again.
Went to Chinawhite last weekend after a crap night at a nearby bar and had a good time! Thumbs up!
Great food great service great atmosphere!! - food was lovely, the autumn food menu did not disappoint. would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
As soon as we entered the restaurant we had great feeling. It was intimate and visually beautiful. The champion of the night was the food. My duck starter was amazing as was the rest of all our dishes, it was a menu that was too hard to choose what to have as we wanted everything. The atmosphere was lovely and chilled out and we had great service. I will recommend this to all my friends.
last Saturday ! had amazing time ! great music, standing girls, a bit crowed but i guess its normal, i loved it!
Went to see Arthur Louis band tonight with friends. Evening was marred by the taking of our drinks while we were on the dance floor. When asked what happened to them, we were told that the staff had removed them. They were not friendly and I had to get the manager who was not forth coming. The manager told me that I must not leave my drink to go and dance while listening to the band. We were in a booth with friends who witnessed their staffs removal of our glasses and then tried to deny it. However, after some raised voice from myself I was able to get it replaced. A bottle of wine now costs £27. Be warned of the taking of drinks by staff members.
We were in chinawhite last night for dinner and nightclub as well. But i m so disappointed what has happened at dinner. We were 11 people.i ordered chicken kung pao. When it came, it was full of coriander in it which i can not it coriander. And i told the waitress. She said she s goin to ask the chef what to do. She said then they are going to charge whole price which was £18 .i said i dont want to pay then she talked with the manager and then they wanted me to pay half of the price for the old dish and full price for the next dish. I told him that there s no coriander written in the ingredients of chiccken in menu. They said you should have asked us that is there any coriander or not.and we dont want to pay for your mistake. And all this conversations infront of the till I was so straight that i was right. When i turned back to table, everybody was finished their food. I got too annoyed. At the end, i was not charged full price.I advice we shouldnt forget our consumer rights.
What a waste of time!!! I booked myself and my brother onto the guestlist over a month in advance as I was travelling to London for a night out. I approached the front door supervisor to enquire as to where we should queue and were told "sorry no guys" I tried explaining my situation having travelled from Leeds but to no use. Having worked in the security industry (probably longer than the door supervisor in question) I didn't even want to lower myself and start an argument so just cut my losses and left. Both my brother and I were suited and booted But still were deemed unfit for entry. Yet another case of a brand getting above itself. Still enjoyed my night around soho and Covent, but wouldn't waste my time trying china's again.
Nightmare to get in. But this is standard for any good London Nightclub. Once inside it was totally rocking loads of hot chicks, great music it was buzzin.
Me and my girl friends come here all the time with our favourite promoter. It is very true with this venue that it's more about the company you are with than the club itself. There is lots of room to dance on the main dance floor, however if you can get in to VIP that's best (better looking people and better service) The drinks are so expensive. Something ridiculous like £35 for a double vodka and mixer. There are always lots of men here (quite a rarity for London clubs) and a good number of attractive girls. The interior is gorgeous and the toilets are always clean and hardly ever busy enough for queues.
Went to China White on Saturday, it was 6 lads, we got in for free as we knew a promoter and got well hooked up, no queuing or anything. Whilst this was excellent and made the entrance very easy and painless, I can defiantly see that it would be very easy to get stuck in a queue and wait for ages to not get let in. This wasn't a massive bonus to the club as I tend to not queue for many places, must be lucky I guess. Onto why this club is bad. First of all this is just like any other club its a couple of rooms with a couple of DJs nothing hugely special. Any other club on a good night would be just the same, admittedly China White tends to have more hot chicks but any club on a good night would equal that. So basically it was a good night, was it worth it NO!!! I bought 2 double vodka and cokes, it managed to set me back £28, I could of bought 2 whole bottles of vodka for that stupid price! If I had paid to get in after the first round of drinks i would of been down £48 and that was before 12:00, unless you are uber rich everyone knows that is a short night. Im not poor, I have a well paying job but I dont want to drop £200 a night just for the sake of saying I went to China White, I would personally rather have 3 good nights in any number of other clubs around London. Added on top of the extotinate prices, it is also in the middle of Soho, I live very far away from there and due to getting a cab back by myself to see the gf I was able to drop £70 on a cab, now that isnt the clubs fault because it is where it is but again a nearer club is far better. So my opinion is that yes china white has hot women, and good music but not worth dropping £200 a night and having 3 drinks
We went to Chinawhite on Saturday and had a wicked time.
We got to the club nice and early for a girly night out so the queue was short.
The music was great too, not sure who the DJ was, he had good taste.
We all made sure we dressed nicely for the night and everyone was charming.
Chinawhite is penciled in for our next night out.
I really do not understand why people give this club bad reviews. Maybe it's just not your type of venue and you should try something else. Personally, I def like it. To enjoy yourself and avoid all the rudeness you just have to know the right people. Then you don't have to wait in the long queue and avoid the line completely. The vip is def the way to go on this one, not to mention it has it's own unisex bathroom. The only thing is that inside, it gets pretty crowded on the dance floor and the vip as well. But that happens in most clubs I suppose. In any case, it's a fun experience, that is of course if you don't have to wait in queue and are at a table in vip with fun people. The design of the club is great, music is pretty good as well.
Lots of people have been talking about the new club and as I used to go to the old one so we thought we’d try. It was much slicker than the old one but it was missing a bit of character. Still the same queues to get in and still a nightmare getting in to vip. Music was quality and the women were unreal!
Went to Chinawhite for my Birthday on Friday with a group of girlfriends. We knew a promoter and friends had been here before so thought it would be a nice place to go. The bouncers treated us awfully and spoke to us incredibly rudely. There was a woman on the door who was also very rude, and clearly thought she was far better then us. The bouncers let me and 4 others of my friends in, then told the other 5 to go to another queue as they didn't look old enough (they were all old enough AND had at least one form of ID on them). They were told to go to another queue and had to wait in the freezing cold for an hour. The bouncers were rude to them and didn't care less that a group of young 19 year old girls had to wait in the cold and were being harassed by a group of older men. I went outside to check on my friends as I had been waiting in the club for them for a while however many of them had left to go home, yet again the bouncers didn't care the girls had traveled a long way to get here and had to make their way home late at night in a small group, and when i tried to get back in the bouncers pushed a man in front of me who was trying to get in when he didn't have a stamp and I was slightly pushed back too. The bouncers said they saw me stumble and suggested I'd had too much to drink (which was not true, as we had been in the club for an hour drinking nothing waiting for our friends, and had traveled for over an hour to get there without drinking) and told me to wait ten minutes across the road until I would be allowed back in. I was on my own and did not think it was acceptable that they thought that was appropriate. The effort of the promoter to get my friends in was much appreciated, my complaint is directed at the bouncers, and the woman outside. I would never plan on going to Chinawhite again, I prefer spending my time in places where I feel welcome and I am treated nicely. I have been to a number of other clubs in London and have never been treated like this.
went to chinawhite last saturday with my girlfriends for my birthday, we were on the guest list and waited prob just over half hour which i thought wasn't bad considering it was london.
the night was going well and we had a few i mean a few it was diabolical the prices in this place but we let that slide, then i went to the lady's room and the floor had been wet out side on the stairs, i slipped went flying and had twisted my ankle real bad. the staff were very rude to me they cleaned up and moved me pretty sharpish out of the way, i had no first aid no accident report done and well I've returned home trying to look after my two year son on crutches! i am livid by this and will make sure people know what to expect when they go there! if the staff had been on form that night and followed procedures then i would let it go enough said!
I have been to Chinawhite twice before and because my husband knew some one who promoted the club at the time we got in very easy and had a ok time. My husband and I live in America now I came home for a few weeks and wanted a good night out with my girlfriends. I put me and my 3 girlfriends on the guest list and we waited in the Que for over and hour to then hear the bouncer telling the girls at the front of the que that the club was fall to capacity and they would just be letting in the members. I understand members get priority but why couldn't they tell us this when we ask a dozen times? We were on the guest list for another club The Roof Gardens which we could have gone to before 1am. The bouncers didn't give a crap that we were waiting there only to just wait there all night, when we asked politely how long it would be they just said "i don't know, maybe 20 Min's" yet they knew we probably wouldn't get it. We were made to feel like the reject que which I guess we were as we didn't know any one. It is true what they say its not what you know its who you know! Also I thought it was meant to be a glamorous trendy club where you see celebs and beautiful people?! But if I was a celeb I wouldn't have been seen dead there! It made me and my friends look like celebs if you were to compare us to most of the skunk girls going in vip! I would say only go to Chinawhite if you can go in with some one who is a member or vip and like pretentious people! As for my girls night out it ended at 1am!
i went last weekend for the second time since it opened and although the bouncers were a bit arsy we had a great night! the dj was amazing does anyone know who he is?
Went to the Halloween party the other week. T’was unreal. Everyone made such an effort. The venue was decked out amazingly. And surprisingly it didn’t look tacky.
The music was great. My friends and I just had such a good time. Will def go back. And the girls were HOT!!
Thought we would pop in for a few drinks as we were in the area. The door staff snatched £40 entry fee without so much as a smile or eye contact then we were pushed down the stairs into the club. We were barked at and told told my husband needed to put his coat into the cloakroom. The same girl - common as muck with a thick London accent and a tattoo on her neck - then barked at me again for apparently being stood on the wrongside of the corridor as I waited. I moved to the otherside and as I was waiting an extremely drunk guy collapsed onto me from a set of steps and headbutted me in the face, making my lip bleed. The same girl again came flying in telling me off again and told me that is what happens when people stand there!! unbelievable, she didn't once ask me if I was ok, needed help or even deal with the fact that the guy couldn't stand up he was so drunk. Instead she used it to reprimand me!
After clearing up the blood from my lip we went into the main room and it was so overcrowded you couldn't even get to the bar. After managing to get drinks - with the barman not uttering one word to us- another display of the great customer service! as soon as I turned around the glass of wine I was drinking was knocked down the front of my dress as the club was so packed you could hardly move and people just barge into you constantly.
We went to the smaller room on the other side where the bar was quiter although the same ignorant bar staff service. There was some free seating - no reserved sign etc, so we sat down within 5 minutes we were rudely told the area was reserved and we needed to move. By this point I had had enough, and spent to much money to be spoken to like a schoolchild so we went back to get my husbands coat and as we were waiting another drunk girl fell over throwing her entire drink down the back of my dress and legs!
The worst club I have ever had the displeasure of visiting!
Friends, it is always the same situation all over the world. The key point is: if you don't know the place just don't go there. It is same for all the top clubs in New York, Rome, Berlin, Amsterdam, Tokyo or Istanbul. If they treat you well and polite they won't be like as they are now. If you know the people in there, you'll be treated like VIP but if you're a first timer, make yourself ready for the attitude :) So, don't bother and don't make your Sat night a nightmare, just go to clubs and bars that you know.
Went last Saturday with my wife and another couple. It took a while to get inside but once in, it was fine. The bouncers were perfectly normal as was the girl at the ticket booth. In fact, I thought they were too docile! There were four girls blocking the stairs at the entrance who refused to move! The bouncer only raised his voice on the 5th attempt to move them - by which time I would have thrown them down the stairs if it was up to me!
Inside the crowd is ok - not snobs but not definitely not low class either. I felt very comfortable with everyone there. The drinks are good.
The only small complaint I have is that the music was not my style - but this is totally subjective and not a complaint as such. However, I will go to a few of the other clubs like Amika etc to see if there is one that fits my music requirements a bit better.
Initially seems like a great place, which I have attended regularly and take clients to. But I do agree that the bouncers treat you like criminals sometimes. Last night was the last straw - my friend, his girlfriend and a few of our female friends went there and myself and my friend got kicked out for what the bouncer said was "harrassing girls"!!
Even after the girls and my friends girfriend explained we were all friends the bouncer kicked us both out and wouldn't let me get my jacket. Consquently never again and certainly will actively discourage clients from going here.
Firstly if you are going to go to Chinawhite I would get there early! We had to wait for a good 20 minutes to get in. The queue was massive. But once inside we had a great night! Prices are reasonable for the West-end. The main room can get quite busy but the music was great! All in all a good night had by all xxx
