Chinese Fair at Westfield

Celebrate the start of the Year of the Tiger with a Chinese fair at Westfield Shopping Centre.

Please note that this event is not taking place in 2011.

Chinese New Year fair
Taking place in The Atrium, the Chinese fair at Westfield celebrates Chinese New Year with live performances, traditional Chinese games, acrobatics and more. Organised by the Chinese Embassy, there's plenty of authentic arts and cultural events taking place at the fair.

Live acts
Taking place over two days, the Chinese fair at Westfield features a Rolling Glass performance of acrobatic gymnastics, as well as a showcase by the Tibetan Male Dance Group. Other acts include a Tai Chi Fan display, which combines martial arts with dancing.

Traditional acts from China
Other special performances at the Chinese fair at Westfield include demonstrations from the dance paper cutting girls, who are showcasing an art form traditional in northern parts of China. As well as all the live performances on show, there's also the chance to enter a prize draw to win a trip to China.

Food and drink for China
There's also the chance to sample some delicious delicacies from China at a series of cultural stalls at the Chinese New Year Fair. You can head to the culture display area to take part in tea tasting, and kids can also get involved with face painting, paper cutting and traditional activities in the games zone.

The Chinese fair at Westfield runs from Friday 19th February - Saturday 20th February 2010. Admission is free.

The culture display area and games zone is open from 10am - 6.30pm on both days. Performance times are 6.30pm - 7pm on Friday and 11am - 11.30am, 2pm - 2.30pm and 5pm - 6pm on Saturday.
