Chinese Hawkers Market at Gilgamesh

Transporting you to the streets of Beijing from its base on Chalk Farm Road, the Chinese hawkers market at Gilgamesh will be at the popular Pan-Asian restaurant throughout the summer of 2009.

Every Monday night from 18th May 2009, the Chinese hawkers market will be in residence within the restaurant's Babylon Lounge, which will be decorated throughout with colourful Chinese lanterns. Recreating the social institution of the Chinese market, where communities have gathered to talk and eat together for centuries, the weekly food fair at Gilgamesh will feature a number of specialist food stalls with plenty of tempting dishes.

Specialist food stalls
Diners can choose from a number of different food stalls at the Chinese Hawkers Market at Gilgamesh, where all dishes will be priced at £3.00. The Dim Sum Trolley will feature food such as Mushroom Dumplings and Prawn Har Gau, and there will also be a Peking duck stallm and a noodles stall offering meals such as malay noodles with tofu, vegetable and egg.

Curry and sushi
Diners selecting food from the curry stall can choose from dishes such as Thai red vegetarian curry with sweet potato, aubergine and Thai basil. And for fans of Japanese fare, there's also the sushi maki roll station offering delicious bites like salmon and avocado rolls, and Californian vegetarian inside out rolls.

The Chinese hawkers market at Gilgamesh runs from 6.30pm - 11pm every Monday, from 18th May until the end of August 2009. Dishes are £3.00 each.
