25 May 2013 The Londoner's Guide to London
A Christian Louboutin exhibition London event is set to take place during 2012 which will no doubt be the highlight of all shoe loving Londoners. Bringing together a selection of his famously red-soled shoes in a huge retrospective, the Design Museum is the first UK venue to host an exhibition of his work. Christian Louboutin exhibition London fashion fans are set to be squealing with joy at what will certainly be one of the hottest shoe-based exhibitions to take place throughout 2012. Showcasing 20 years worth of amazing shoe designs, the Christian Louboutin exhibition at Design Museum takes shoes from the designer personal archive and celebrates his iconic, extravagant and glamorous creations. Red soles Renowned for their vibrant red painted soles (which were apparently first concieved when the Louboutin coated the bottom of a stiletto with red nail varnish) these designer shoes take their inspiration from a variety of sources, many of which are explored in the Christian Louboutin exhibition. Themes such as cabaret and showgirls, fantasy and fairytale, art and architecture and landscape and travel are all reflected in the designs, alongside exhibits which demonstrate the craft of shoemaking, and the intricate handmade nature of the shoes in the Designs Museum's Christian Louboutin exhibition. London loves Louboutin Having only just featured in a special one-off couture shoe show in Brick Lane, the famous French designer is back to showcase yet more of his spectacular footwear. Fron stilettos to knee high boots, and studded sneakers to jewelled pumps, and his more recent range for men, shoe-festishists will be in seventh heaven with this stunning display. There is even a special section of the Christian Louboutin exhibition dedicated to the Fetish exhibition, shown in Paris in 2007, that was a collaboration of photography between Louboutin and artist and filmmaker David Lynch. Exhibition highlights No doubt one of the highlights of the exhibition will be the chance to get up close and personal with several of the artistically designed shoes. Visitors to the Christian Louboutin exhibition can see the likes of a pair of cerise velvet cut-away round-toed heels, with crystals on the heels; some knee high boots with black lace like prints on a white background; and a pair of black patent stilettos with a silver studded toe cap. The Christian Louboutin exhibition London event takes place from Tuesday 1st May - Monday 9th July 2012 at Design Museum. Standard tickets cost £6.00 - £10.00.
