Christmas at Charles Dickens Museum
Just ahead of his 200th birthday next year, Charles Dickens is very much the hot topic for this Christmas as fans of his work get ready for the big celebrations. From a recitation of one of his most popular tales to a very special look at Victorian Christmas traditions over the big weekend itself, there is plenty to feel festive about this Christmas at Charles Dickens Museum.

Christmas with the Dickens family
In a very rare and special festive treat, the Charles Dickens Museum is inviting literary fans to come and spend Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day all at the author's former home. Here you can step back in time to the late Victorian period and experience the greenery, the decorations and the spirit of Yuletide which would have been familiar to Dickens and his family. Lively readings from festive stories and classic film adaptations are also included in the mix. Tickets are £5.00 for children and £15.00 for adults, and include mulled wine, mince pies and a special gift pack.

A Christmas Carol
An adaptation of the traditional ghost story is performed for Christmas at Charles Dickens Museum at 6.30pm on Friday 16th December, incorporating the classic narrative, live music and puppetry. Carrying on with the same theme, Tuesday 20th December sees the museum taken over by biographer Michael Slater as he reads the story in the cosy atmosphere of the library. Tickets are £12.00 per person and include a glass of mulled wine.

Dickens' London
Throughout the month on every Friday from 2nd - 23rd, visitors to the museum can take a walk through Dickens' London, starting off with at the museum. A tour guide will transport you across the city, taking in historial landmarks and giving you the chance to hear excerpts from A Christmas Carol along the way. Tickets are £10.00 per person and included entrance to the museum.

Christmas at Charles Dickens Museum takes place from Friday 2nd - Monday 26th December 2011. For more information or to book tickets for any of the events, click on the link below.
