This year Christmas at Southbank Centre is off to a truly festive start with all kinds of fantastic live music and shows to entertain all. From delicious food markets to Messiah by candlelight and spellbinding children's shows, there is something for all tastes and ages to enjoy.

Featuring concerts by the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the London Philharmonic Choir as well as a festival full of gourmet chocolate and sweet gifts, Christmas at Southbank Centre is truly something to get excited about this year.

Whether you are a fan of classical music or contemporary jazz, music is all the rage over the festive period. Head to the Early Christmas Stocking concert to hear some jazz classics from Ian Shaw and Claire Martin, or celebrate the season with a rendition of Handel's Messiah, sung by candlelight by the London Philharmonic Choir. There's also classical music from the Britten Sinfonia, as well as a lively showcase of Ennio Morricone music from the Spaghetti Western Orchestra.

Families will find plenty to keep everyone happy over Christmas at Southbank Centre as a whole host of live acts do their very best to warm your cockles during the coldest season. Very young children can get in the festive spirit with the enchanting White show, while kids aged eight and over can join Slava and his troupe of clowns for an interactive snow show.
