Celebrate Christmas at Westminster Abbey with a variety of Christmas carol concerts and live music events.

Christmas carols
With a traditional and time honoured approach to the festive season, the historic and beautiful church is hosting a number of concerts and musical services in the lead up to Christmas 2011. Every year, around 12,000 people from the UK and around the world celebrate Christmas at Westminster Abbey, with the carol service on Christmas Eve proving especially popular.

Handel's Messiah
The 2011 Christmas at Westminster Abbey season begins with a rendition of Handel's Messiah in the Nave, just a few steps away from the composer's final resting place in Poet's Corner. The performance features contributions from the Choir of Westminster Abbey, as well as St. James's Baroque and four accomplished soloists.

Annual Christmas concert
Another highlight of the Christmas at Westminster Abbey performances is bound to be the Christmas Concert on 13th December. The concert includes choral pieces sung by the Abbey Choir as well as seasonal readings and carols which the audience are invited to sing.
