Where

St Paul's Cathedral

Join in on some traditional Christmas carol singing at a historic London landmark as thousands of Londoners head to St Pauls for Christmas festivities. This year features time-honoured Christmas songs as well as celebrity readings, making it a definitive Christmas event to remember.

Carols at the historic cathedral
St Pauls is easily London’s most famous cathedral and its architecture and history are known throughout the world. A cathedral has been on the site since 604 AD, and the current one was built by notable architect Christopher Wren over 300 years ago. Some of England’s most historic events have taken place there, including Lord Nelson’s funeral, Queen Victoria’s Jubilee and the wedding of Charles and Diana.

Beautiful choral concerts
The festive season is celebrated in magnificent style this year with a number of services featuring Christmas carols at St Pauls Cathedral, including the beautiful Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten. All are welcome to join the concert starting at 5pm on Saturday 10th December.

Celebration of Christmas
Songs performed by the Cathedral Choir as well as readings by celebrities will feature at the Celebration of Christmas special service. Starting at 6.30pm on Thursday 15th December, this popular event promises to be a spectacular part of the season of Christmas carols at St Pauls Cathedral.

Family events at St Pauls Cathedral
Christmas carols for all ages are also a big feature at the cathedral for 2011, with children especially welcome at the family carol services. Lasting just 45 minutes, these are a chance for even the littlest to enjoy the magical atmosphere of this magnificent building and take part in the Christmas carols at St Pauls Cathedral.

Christmas Eve
The Cathedral Choir ushers in Christmas Eve with a 4pm performance of well loved Christmas carols. The St Pauls Cathedral Midnight Eucharist service also features carols and seasonal music, as well as a special seasonal sermon.

The advent season at St Pauls Cathedral runs from Sunday 27th November - Saturday 24th December 2011. Please note that while some services are free to attend, others require tickets. For more information on the full programme of events, click on the link below.
