With the dawn of another Christmas in London it’s time to get in the spirit of the season and start celebrating. Nothing beats a hearty bout of carol singing and London has more than a few options as to where to enjoy a good, old fashioned yuletide singing session.

For festive Christmas carols London is home to one of the most famous services in the world, taking place annually at Trafalgar Square. Visit the Square this Christmas and get in good voice for the Christmas carols London season.

Trafalgar Square will be home to a season of carol services throughout December, inviting Londoners to get into the festive spirit. A selection of choirs from across the capital are setting up in the Square and going through all the classics.

Children and adults of all ages are welcome to visit Trafalgar Square and enjoy carol services in the run up to Christmas. The free carol concerts run from Monday 7th December - Monday 21st December 2009.

VSO Christmas Concert By Candlelight
Trafalgar Square's St Martin in the Fields is also hosting a concert in aid of development charity VSO on Thursday 3rd December 2009. The City of London Choir are joined by Cameroonian singer Muntu Caldo to get you in the festive spirit. All money raised will support VSO's education programmes across the world.

Trafalgar Square Christmas Tree
Whilst enjoying festive carols and getting in good voice for the season, visitors to Trafalgar Square can also enjoy the sight of the annual Trafalgar Square Christmas tree, given to London each year by the people of Oslo, Norway. The Trafalgar Square Christmas tree is a key feature of the London Christmas experience and all are welcome to enjoy carol singing to its impressive backdrop. The tree will be unveiled Thursday 3rd December 2009.

Christmas church services
Carols form a key part of annual Christmas church services in London, where Londoners can celebrate the true meaning of Christmas in traditional style. Christmas Eve services usually take place at St Martins in the Field at Trafalgar Square and at Westminster Abbey.

St Pauls Cathedral
London's most famous cathedral, St Pauls Cathedral hosts a series of special concerts during Advent. Carollers can also take part in a Christmas carol world record attempt to spread the festive cheer.

The Dulwich Choral Society will perform a number of Christmas carols on Monday 21st December 2009 at St Stephen's Church on College Road, Dulwich. Nearest rail: Sydenham.
