Celebrate the unveiling of the Carnaby Christmas decorations with a swinging '60s Christmas disco at Carnaby Street. Full of psychedelic festive cheer and 1960s tunes, you can party for free at the iconic fashion destination.

Psychedelic Christmas in Carnaby
The free open air Christmas disco at Carnaby Street kickstarts a year of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Carnaby as a stylish fashion hub by taking revellers back to the 1960s to see in the festive season in style. The disco features a DJ set by Eddie Piller, the legendary head of iconic record label Acid Jazz, so expect plenty of '60s soul, funk and mod tunes.

Swinging Carnaby
Taking place on the same night as the unveiling of the 2009 Carnaby Christmas decorations, the Christmas disco at Carnaby Street givers party lovers the chance to dance underneath huge inflatable reindeer and festive '60s messages of love, joy, hope and peace. Expect plenty of pillar box red, candy pink, acid green and orange decorations at the disco, alongside other psychedelic colours and designs.

The 1960s are well known for their iconic and ground breaking music, and the Carnaby disco might well feature a couple of Christmas number one hits. Whether it's Cliff Richard's I Love You, Danny Williams' Moon River, Tom Jones' Green Green Grass of Home or The Beatles' I Feel Fine or I Want to Hold Your Hand, there should be plenty of opportunities to do you best twist or mashed potato at the Christmas disco at Carnaby Street, alongside the groovy podium dancers.

The Christmas disco at Carnaby Street runs from 6pm - 7pm, Tuesday 10th November 2009. Admission is free.
