Christmas Lights at Westfield welcome in the festive season to London's newest and largest shopping centre. With a host of exciting celebrities joining in the fun on the night, you can be sure to get into the Christmas spirit.

Christmas at Westfield
Live musical entertainment will have everyone in a celebratory mood for the switch on of the Christmas lights at Westfield Shopping Centre, and there will certainly be some very excited children in the crowd as the very next day, Santas Grotto will open to the public.

Turning on the lights
With thousands of visitors hitting the shops since the Westfield opened in October, the switch on of the Christmas lights at Westfield is certain to be a popular hit with festive fans everywhere. Special celebrity guests will be joining Johnny Vaughan in mingling with the shoppers before they flick the switch, and there will certainly be a magical Christmas spirit in the air on the night.

One million lights
The Christmas lights at Westfield are set to light up the centre of the mall and the giant trees for the entire festive period. A thirty foot tree will greet shoppers at the Shepherd Bush tube, and you will also be able to experience the first snow of the winter with white flakes falling on the Southern Terrace on the night. Using one million low energy LED lights, the Westfield display is certain to be one of the most delightful this Christmas.

Santas Grotto
Set to be the centrepiece of the Christmas events at Westfield, the spectacular Santas Grotto allows kids to meet Santa in a 3D interactive Wishkingdom, where wishes can be granted for all those children that have been good. Along with Santa and his elves, you can also experience the magical delights of the Wishfinder fairy in this amazingly atmospheric Christmas experience.

Combining glitter and ice in a continuously shifting pattern of colours, the grotto will no doubt be on the wish list of every kid in London this Christmas.

Snow will begin to fall on the Southern Terrace at 5pm and the switch on of the Christmas lights at Westfield Shopping Centre takes place at 6.30pm on Thursday 13th November. The lights will remain in place until around 4th January 2009.

The Westfield Santas Grotto will open on Friday 14th November 2008.
