Circus Festival London

Featuring a whole host of unusual and exciting acts, the circus festival London event is turning the Roundhouse in Camden into a huge brick big top in the spring of 2012.

Roll up, roll up
Celebrating all things circus related, the circus festival London event includes world premieres of brand new shows, film screenings, alternative theatrical performances, street dance and much more. From camped up cabaret entertainment to works from the next generation of up and coming performers, there's plenty for all ages and tastes at CircusFest.

Cirque Mandingue
One of the highlights of CircusFest and a show likely to attract a great deal of attention is Fote Fore by Guinean circus troupe Cirque Mandingue. Featuring acrobatics and street dance set to live West African drumming and a hip hop soundtrack, this is one show show that's bound to get pulses racing at the circus festival.

London premieres
As well as the UK premiere of Fote Fore at CircusFest, there's also the premiere of Corkus Cirkor's Underman. The Swedish company's new show focuses on the true life stories of three undermen, the Swedish term for the base in an acrobatic pair whose job it is to lift and support the attention grabbing flyer. As their relationships with their partners come to and end, the three undermen are left with their careers in the balance and their emotions in turmoil.

Professor Vanessa's Wondershow
Also taking place during the circus festival, London fans of all things big top can step back in time and relive the carnival atmosphere of the golden age of the circus thanks to Professor Vanessa'a Wondershow. The brainchild of Professor Vanessa Toulmin, Director of the National Fairground Archive in Sheffield, this immersive show gives you the walk around original vintage circus side-shows dating back to the 1930s - 1950s, as well as seeing live performances from the likes of Marawa The Amazing and The Insect Circus.
