The Glastonbury phenomenon brings an interactive theatrical experience with risqué performers, Horsemeat Disco DJs, drag queen cabaret and more

Sugar Beast Circus
The Sugar Beast Circus joins up with The Milkwood Rodeo to merge theatre, art and performance.

Sat 17th April – Sat 24th April
Compagnie XY: Le Grand C
A cast of 18 create a 360 degree arena of acrobatics, dance, music and more as a spectacular show of risky aerial feats unfolds.

Kleinkunst III – The Sideshow
The Central School of Speech and Drama presents a critical debate and exploration into short performance art practice and notions of normal and abnormal.

Marisa Carnesky: Dystopian Wonders
Delve into the strange world of bizarre bodies and strange illusions as the Carnesky Ghost Train creator joins up with performer Rasp Thorne.

An Evening with Gerry Cottle
Gerry ran away to join the circus at just 15, and he’s heading to CircusFest to tell everyone about his amazing life in the circus.

Professor Vanessa’s Peculiar Entertainments
Take a look at circus history as the National Fairground Archive brings a huge selection of circus bits and bobs to the Roundhouse.

BFI: Man on Wire
The stunning, multi award-winning film of Phillipe Petit’s wire walk between the Twin Towers gets a screening.

Fri 30th April
BFI: Tod Browning Double Bill: Freaks and The Unkown
Two of the acclaimed director’s best films get a showing, two macabre classics involving circus freaks, beautiful women and strongmen.

Mon 3rd May
BFI: Something Wicked This Way Comes
A terrifying film starring Jonathan Pryce who brings his collection of freaks and oddities to a small American town.

Tue 4th May
Memoirs of a Showwoman
This CircusFest event explores the term ‘showwoman’, exploring its history and who are the famous showwomen of the circus and fairs.

Wed 5th May
Slightly Fat Features: Variety in the House
Stunts, classic comedy, live music, circus tricks and loads of laughs hit the Roundhouse as vaudeville returns in style.

Thur 6th May – Sun 9th May
Circolombia: Urban and Roundhouse Circus Company: Narcissus
The Roundhouse Circus Company and the Circolombia bring a double bill of acrobatics, parkour, break dancing, martial arts and dance to CircusFest.

BFI: I Clowns and La Strada
A double bill of Fellini’s best works comes to the Roundhouse, as the Italian director’s fascination with clowns and the world of the circus comes to CircusFest.

Mon 10th May
BFI: Funny Bones
Lee Evans stars in the hilarious and moving tale of comedians and variety performers in Blackpool and beyond.

Thur 13th May – Sun 16th May
Acrobat: Propoganda
Propoganda return to the Roundhouse after their huge success with Smaller, Poorer, Cheaper in 2007, bringing avant-garde circus and physical skills to CircusFest.

Sun 16th May
BFI: Dumbo
The classic Disney film about the circus elephant with the big ears and his friendly mouse enjoys a screening at CircusFest.

Sun 16th May
BFI: Wings of Desire
Wim Wenders’ love letter to Berlin from 1987 tells the tale of two angels invisible to humans, as they meet a circus acrobat and fulfil his mortal desires.
