Cologne Christmas Market

The Cologne Christmas Market brings the real spirit of a German Christmas to London, as the area from the Southbank Centre to the London Eye is transformed into a Christmassy promenade for the young and young at heart.

Traditional Christmas presents
Experience a taste of what a traditional, beautifully lit, German market has to offer at the Cologne Christmas Market in London. Numerous authentically decorated wooden chalets offer a wide range of unique hand crafted gifts and unusual Christmas presents. Wooden and tin toys, delicate glass Christmas tree ornaments, candles in all shapes and sizes and many more Christmassy products are on sale in the magical winter atmosphere of the market.

German treats
Plenty of traditional German delights are on offer for hungry Christmas shoppers with warming German mulled wine and famous German bratwurst available from the multitude of stalls. Sip on a Kolsch, which is the best known Cologne beer, or indulge yourself with roasted nuts, gingerbread hearts and many other delicious treats.

Festive atmosphere
As well as all the festive shopping, the carousel in the centre of the Cologne Christmas Market will enthral visitors with traditional Christmas music, filling everyone with a fantastic Christmas spirit.

Santa’s Secret Village
The kids are also in for an extra special treat at the Cologne Christmas Market as they can seek out Santa’s Secret Village. Here you can meet Santa Claus or decorate an edible gingerbread card with Mrs Claus, in an enchanting 30 minute children’s show. Kids will also get to take home a snapshot of their meeting with either of the jolly Christmas couple at the market.

The Cologne Christmas Market is open seven days a week from 10am – 10pm, Friday 21st November – Tuesday 23rd December 2008. Entry is free.
