Coloured Fountains at Trafalgar Square

Turning the iconic water features in central London green and every other colour in the spectrum, the newly restored coloured fountains at Trafalgar Square are up and running for June 2009.

The newly renovated coloured fountains at Trafalgar Square feature state of the art lighting in the form of an ultra modern LED system installed in the Grade II listed fountains. Originally built around 1845, the fountains have now been given a major refurbishment in the run up to the huge city wide celebrations for the Story of London in June 2009.

Green and other colours too
As well as providing spectacular light shows during big events in the public space from now on, the state of the art LED lights now installed in the restored coloured fountains at Trafalgar Square are environmentally friendly, too. Using innovative green technology, the fountain lights will save thousands of pounds per year in running costs, while giving spectators a memorable visual show throughout big public events.

The new lights in the coloured fountains at Trafalgar Square have now been installed, and will be working from June 2009.
