Country Affair at Hampton Court

Get ready for the fourth Country Affair at Hampton Court Palace green, as the August Bank Holiday weekend sees the return of the fantastic kids and family day out. With traditional fairground fun, historical re-enactment and a wonderful setting, A Country Affair at Hampton Court is certain to be a very entertaining weekend.

One of the largest shows of its kind to take place in or around London, A Country Affair at Hampton Court Palace is extremely popular with anyone who wants to enjoy something a little bit out of the ordinary over the Bank Holiday weekend. Packed with entertainment from jousting to ferret racing, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Located in the beautiful historic setting of Hampton Court Palace green, every year the show brings the essence of the countryside to the city with traditional and old fashioned entertainment. White marquees and performance arenas recreate a relaxing countryside atmosphere, with all kinds of popular events for kids and families.

Amongst the entertainment you can look forward to seeing over the August Bank Holiday weekend are falconry and hawk shows, and stunning jousting performances. Capturing the medieval spirit of Hampton Court Palace itself, A Country Affair mixes amazing displays of horsemanship with plenty of fun and humorous displays. For those that like a little bet, there is the chicken and ferret racing event, or if they fancy themselves as a miniature knight in shining armour, why not treat the kids to a donkey ride.

There is plenty of opportunity for a spot of shopping too, and with a Village Market crammed full of traditional produce set out in the style of village streets, there is plenty to get your teeth into with arts, crafts, gifts, food and tasty treats. Beer, wine, Pimms and even more delicious goodies are on sale at the Country Affair Inn, where you can chill out with a cool pint, and catch some entertaining live music acts.

A petting farm, Maypoles, traditional fairground rides, clowns, storytelling, circus workshops and dance performances, add to the enjoyable atmosphere and make A Country Affair at Hampton Court a fantastic day out for all.

A Country Affair at Hampton Court Palace takes place from Saturday 23rd to Monday 25th August and entry is £3.00 for children, £6.00 for senior citizens, £3.00 for kids, and free to the under 3s. The show is open from 10am to 6pm everyday.
