19 June 2013 The Londoner's Guide to London
The Courvoisier Cafe du Pique Nique is sticking two fingers up at the current weather and heading indoors to recreate a summer of fun at the Future Gallery in March 2010. Bringing you all the delights normally associated with the outdoors, but indoors, the Courvoisier Cafe summer festival is inviting you to join in with the merriment and sample a glass punch or two. Courvoisier Cafe du Pique Nique Carrying on with their quest to find the best in up and coming artistic talent, the Courvoisier team have chosen Robin Fegen to transform the Future Gallery into a summery haven, crammed with delightful events. Mixing the elements of a traditional picnic with more unusual additions, the Pique Nique festival gives you the chance to indulge in a little bit of summer, several months early. Alfresco indoors Imagine your perfect picnic area - covered with green grass and the sun shining down on a hamper stuffed with delicious goodies. Well, this is exactly what you will be treated to at the Courvoisier Cafe du Pique Nique event. Featuring real grass and trees, and some Seasonal Affective Disorder light boxes to emulate the sun, this is simply the only way to recreate a blissful summer's day in the middle of rainy March. Picnic hampers Once you've bathed yourself in the light of the (artificial) sun, there is plenty of opportunity to indulge in a spot of picnicing. On offer to all comers at the Courvoisier Cafe du Pique Nique is a luxury hamper containing such delights as smoked salmon sandwiches, strawberries, award winning cider, pork pies and some fantastic homemade cakes. Plus, everyone will be treated to a free glass of summer punch on arrival. Fun in the sun As the Courvoisier Cafe du Pique Nique at Future Gallery is open from midday to midnight, there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy the sunshine and the ecelctic range of events taking place to mark the mini festival. A whole host of unusual and vibrant attractions are being held at the gallery, including a folk musical festival, the UK film premiere of Werner Herzog's Incident at Loch Ness, a cartwheel masterclass, two hour holidays and wasp pinatas, making this the perfect escape from the grey city weather. The Courvoisier Cafe du Pique Nique takes place from 12pm - 12am, Saturday 13th March - Saturday 20th March 2010 at Future Gallery. Entrance is free.
