Covent Garden Christmas madness
The Covent Garden Christmas Pudding Race sees a collection of festive runners take to the streets in a crazy Christmas race that has taken place annually since 1980. In a special seasonal twist all participants will be in Christmas fancy dress and must complete the course carrying a Christmas pudding.
Novelty obstacles and the Pudding Trophy
Join the crowds to cheer on the runners as they negotiate a series of novelty obstacles in the Covent Garden Piazza, with guaranteed fun throughout the event. The winning team will receive a special Pudding Trophy for their efforts, as has been tradition since the Covent Garden Christmas Pudding Race was first staged in 1980.
Running for charity
The Covent Garden Christmas Pudding Race is a truly unique charity fundraising event, with all money raised donated to Cancer Research UK. Londoners of all ages can enjoy a fun day out for a good cause at the Great Christmas Pudding Race in Covent Garden and see a less than usual spectacle in the bargain.
Join in the fun
To take part in the race all you need to do is grab five mates and get ready to run with a pudding. Teams are required to raise £600.00, or £100.00 per person, in sponsorship, with proceeds going towards Cancer Research UK. There is also a £25.00 per person registration fee.
The Great Christmas Pudding Race takes place on Saturday 3rd December 2011 at Covent Garden. The event begins at 11am, with entertainment from street performers. The Covent Garden Christmas Pudding Race is free to attend for spectators.
