Covent Garden Night Market

The Covent Garden Night Market makes a return to London this summer as the traditional market square is once again filled with delicious produce and a fantastic kitchen theatre. The historic piazza will be full of delicious produce every Thursday and Friday afternoon and evening, as the finest traders in London sell off their wares at the Covent Garden Night Market.

A serious foodie paradise, the Covent Garden Night Market brings back the culinary heritage of the area as the best producers in the area bring their wares together in this enticing food market. Filled with mouth watering stalls, you can get your hands on produce from a whole host of stalls including the Spore Boys, Primrose Bakery, Northfields Farm, Creme de la Crepe, Ash Green Oganics and Artisan Foods.

Those who love to get their shopping from the farmer's markets of London will certainly be in for a treat during August as the Covent Garden Night Market allows you to bag delicious produce from grade A oysters to fresh fish. Try some grey squirrel, a pigeon or two from the wild game stalls or perhaps indulge with chocolates from Melt. Other stalls selling their wares are McManus Oysters, Primal Snacks, Primrose Bakery, Violet Cakes, Cinnamon Tree Bakery, Rainha Santa, German Deli, Christian Penwill, Simply Ice Cream, Olive Bar, England Preserves, Norbiton Fine Cheese and Rowan Tree Goats.

And it's not just the food that you can buy at the market. Every Thursday evening a celebrity chef will be taking up residence in the piazza to teach you how to create fabulous dishes and to inspire you onto amazing things with the produce that you buy from the Covent Garden Night Market stalls. Kitchen Theatres at Covent Garden Night Market will be taken each week by a diffent chef who will show you how to recreate their own masterpieces in your kitchen at home. Kicking off the proceedings on Thursday 7th August is Ollie Rowe, the head chef of Konstam, who is famous for sourcing his ingredients from in and around the M25. Next up are the Hairy Bikers who will be cooking up some delights on Friday 15th August.

Willie Wonka, made famous by his 100 percent pure Venezuelan chocolate and the Channel 4 programme that followed his attempts to market it, will be teaching you a thing or too on Friday 22nd August. And finishing up the run of chefs is Fergus Henderson the head chef of St John restaurant on Friday 29th August, who is renowned for his nose to tail eating philosophy.

Providing you with some of the best quality food and produce in London, the Covent Garden Night Market allows you to Pick up some food, a few culinary tips and enjoy the alfresco kitchen atmosphere throughout August.

The Covent Garden Night Market is open 3pm - 10pm on Thursdays and 12pm - 9pm on Fridays throughout August 2008. The kitchen theatres with the celebrity chefs will begin at 6.30pm.
