Foodies can get some valuable advice for free at the Covent Garden Speakers Corner, the latest event to feature at the popular Covent Garden Real Food Market.

Starring top chefs and food specialists in a series of free weekly talks and demonstrations, the Covent garden Speakers Corner aims to make the Piazza the ultimate destination for lovers of fresh and gourmet food. With everything from bee keeping advice to chilli tea tastings and chocolate beer samples on offer throughout August, there should be plenty to please all tastebuds. And as always, there's also the chance to browse through the delicious looking produce for sale at the Real Food Market inbetween all the special events.

Events for all
Taking place every Thursday between 6th August - 20th August 2009, the pop up Covent Garden Speakers Corner will have an early session at 1pm that will include special events for kids. Children can come along with their families and take part in cupcake decorating, beeswax workshops and a host of other hands on activities designed to get them excited about food and more knowledgable about how produce ends up on their plate.

The Speakers Corner event schedule looks like this:

6th August
1pm: Tea tastings and a talk from Tea Pigs
6pm: Beer and ale tastings with Meantime Brewery

13th August
1pm: Bee keeping advice plus honey and beeswax workshops with Hive & Honey
6pm: Urban farming talk with Captial Growth

20th August
1pm: Cupcake decorating workshop for kids with Ella's Bakehouse
6pm: Chocolution talks on the raw chocolate movement.

Sessions at Covent Garden Speakers Corner start at 1pm and 6pm on Thursday 6th August, Thursday 13th August, and Thursday 20th August 2009. Events are free to attend.
