Craft London exhibition
New for 2010, this is your chance to see what the arts and craft designers of the future have in store for your wardrobe, your home and your jewellery box. There are plenty of fantastic craft makers exhibiting at Craft London meaning you will need plenty of time to browse. With textiles, ceramics, jewellery, illustration and interior designs all on show, there are certain to be several items just crying out to be bought and taken home by you.
Fresh talent for 2010
All the designers taking part in the Craft London exhibition have been supported by the London Developments Agency and the Arts Council which helps artists and designers in London produce and sell their work through their funding. Not only does Boris give his seal of approval for these designers by supporting the scheme, but Craft Central does too, by exhibiting the home grown talent in what is surely one of the most creative cities in the world.
Craft design stars
On show at the exhibition in March are several talented new craft designers all eager to show off their wares and prove they have what it takes to make it in the creative market. The exhibition will feature unusual textiles from Kate Barton, fun fabric based accessories from Anna Johnson, silk screen wallpaper from Laura Milligan, and jewellery for the home from Jessica Light. Hannah James, Ruth Babajide and Jo Davis have a selection of ceramics for your approval, while illustrator Julie Vermeille has delightful fairytale inspired books on show. Daniele Geargeoura, Yuki Saskura Assiter and Alexandra Simpson have all produced elegant jewellery, and Ana Menses is bringing striking silverware to exhibit.
Meet the maker
If you are a bit crafty too and fancy having a chat with one of the designers exhibiting at the show, you can always pop along to the Meet the Maker Artist Talk taking place during the Craft London exhibition. Here you will have the chance to ask questions and explore the ways in which the designers work with their chosen craft. The Meet the Maker session takes place from 6pm on Thursday 18th March 2010.
