Looking at the way in which Britain reinvented itself from 1945 onwards, Dan Dare at Science Museum is an exhibition which shows just how creative and technologically aware we became as a nation following the Second World War.

During the war research into new technologies and electronics boosted industries like aviation and made Britian a key player in these areas. Health, housing and defence were also given a push to become better, more efficient and more technologically aware. Dan Dare at Science Museum shows just how the nation's rebirth was due in great part to the boom in consumer goods and reveals a surprising lost world of British manufacturing.

Radar, penicilin, and the jet engine were all British inventions that the nation took enormous pride in, and new and better scienctific developments were being made all the time. Set to kick start the race to becoming a world beating nation of scientific and technological advancements, Britain was off to a great start.

In a pre globalised world, British products were starting to make a difference to the way that British people lived their every day lives. Dan Dare at Science Museum looks at how the lost world of British invention was in its hey day during the 40s and 50s, and when the television that everyone was using was a Murphy, rather than a Sony.

Dan Dare the hero of the Eagle comic, is the start of the show, as a figure from the time that reflected the spirit of hope and the British will to make good out of bad at the time.

The exhibition is free to attend.
