Dance Mob at Southbank Centre

Get ready for a toe tapping, tail feather shaking bank holiday weekend experience with the Dance Mob at Southbank Centre free for all. All of the indoor and outdoor spaces of the big arts complex will be taken over by dancers performing a routine at 3pm on Sunday 30th August 2009, and you can learn all the moves and join the crowd for free.

To get everyone geared up for Big Dance 2010, the community dance initiative being organised by the London Mayor's office, Dance Mob at Southbank Centre is encouraging everyone to take part in a mass dance routine. No matter what your dancing skills or level of experience, you can learn the fun and easy moves at any of the free summer dance workshops held in the Clore Ballroom, or download the routine from the Internet.

All welcome
Expect to see a range of ages, body shapes and dancing skills on show at the Dance Mob at Southbank Centre event, as people from across London come together to perform an en masse dance routine just for the fun of it. And don't worry if you haven't got round to learning the dance moves in advance; there'll be workshops running on the hour, every hour, in the Clore Ballroom from 11am on the day, so everyone can get up to speed before the event kicks off.

Big Dance 2010
If the Dance Mob event has merely whetted your appetite for interactive performances, then you'll be pleased to know that the Big Dance initiative is scheduled to return to London in 2010, with all manner of workshops and public events to enjoy. From ballroom dancing to ballet and contemporary street dance, there should be plenty to suit all tastes when the festival comes back to town in July 2010.
