With more shows than you can shake a stick at, Dance Week at Watch This Space is a must whether you're a fan of urban dance or the more sultry tango.

Opening acts
The group Avant Garde Dance look to mix together elements of parkour, contemporary and hip hop, whilst enthralling their audience with a journey through the urban side of London as they open Dance Week. At the Watch This Space festival you can expect multiple acts per day, as dANTE or dIE perform in the later half of the opening day, as well as other days throughout the week. You can also join in as dANTE or dIE are running a workshop on site-specific dance.

Multicultural event
Arenel Productions from Belgium, Jordi L Vidal from Spain and Cie Bilbobasso from France are all looking to add their own twist to their performances. It makes Dance Week at Watch This Space much more of a multicultural event and gives viewers a chance to see how other nations perform.

Free week of dance
A highlight of the week is a passionate tango called A Fuego Lento performed by the French group Cie Bilbobasso. As they dance their hearts out they will be engulfed by smoke and flames, which adds to the fiery nature of the tango. Following this spectacular display is Motionhouse Dance Theatre and Tango Siempre, who are sure to wow crowds with their unique styles as they look to close out Dance Week. At Watch This Space you can enjoy all of this wonderful dancing talent for free, making for a perfect family day out.

Dance Week at Watch This Space begins on Monday 15th August and ends on Sunday 21st August 2011. It takes place outside and around the National Theatre and you can watch for free.
