See a massive display of the weapons and armour of Henry VIII at the Dressed to Kill exhibition in London. Taking place over three floors of the White Tower at The Tower of London, the exhibition will form the largest ever single collection of suits of armour known to have belonged to the famous English king.

Dressed to Kill exhibition London
Marking the 500th anniversary of Henry VIII becoming king of England, the Dressed to Kill exhibition at the London historic royal palace on the Thames shows the suits of armour and weapons that the infamous Tudor used to promote his image as a man of action skilled in military and sporting matters. He might be better known these days for his scandalous love life, wife killing tendancies and unprecedented fallings out with the Pope, but from the unique artifacts in the exhibition it is clear that in his own day, the Henry VIII wanted to be known as a wealthy, powerful and masterful king.

Exclusive to the Tower of London
Reunited for the first time since the reign of Henry's daughter, Elizabeth I, the items in the Dressed to Kill exhibition in London have been borrowed from the Royal Armouries and collections from around the world. Exploring the themes of Henry VIII as king, warrior and sportsman, the show includes highlights such as a unique and bizaare horned, spectacled helmet presented to Henry VIII by Maximillian I, the Holy Roman Emperor.

Highlights
Other highlights in the Henry VIII: Dressed to Kill exhibition at the Tower of London includes a suit of armour for a horse from around 1515. The show also features what is possibly Henry's last ever suit of armour, which may have been made for the siege of Boulogne in 1544. Called the Wilton anime armour, this suit is on loan from the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art in New York.

The Henry VIII: Dressed to Kill exhibition in London runs from Friday 3rd April 2009 - Sunday 17th January 2010. Entry to the show is included in the price of the general ticket to the Tower of London, which is £17.00 for adults and £9.50 for children aged 5 - 16. Children under 5 go free. To book your tickets by phone, call 0844 482 7799.
