Revel in a Copyright Christmas with Duckie at Barbican, as the legendary purveyors of progressive working class culture turn their satirical eyes to the consumer, capitalist orgy that has overtaken the festive season.

Inviting you to step inside the Duckie superstore and marvel at the decaying arcades of branded Britain, the 2011 Christmas show by Duckie at Barbican anticipates the demise of Western capitalism with anarchic glee. The promenade performance features everyone from supermarket sweepers to sweatshop Santas, with the odd saucy shopaholic thrown into the mix.

Shopping season
Giving you the chance to buy your dreams of peace, love and happiness as handily packaged consumer products, the show by Duckie at Barbican asks whether Christmas might mean more than shopping. Copyright Christmas continues the tradition of alternative festive theatre by Duckie at the famous East London arts venue, which have included the Olivier Award winning C'est Barbican! show.

As well as the Copyright Christmas show by Duckie, The Barbican is also hosting an indie Christmas gift market curated by the self-styled post-gay arts outfit. Browse the market stalls for retro homeware, handmade cards and more alternative gifts from a variety of DIY designers and community artists.

Copyright Christmas, the Duckie at Barbican show, runs from Saturday 10th December - Saturday 31st December 2011. Performances take place at 4pm, 7.30pm and 9.30pm.
