Head to the Duckie Christmas Market for alternative gift ideas over the festive season. Brought to you by the ever popular purveyors of progressive working class entertainment and culture, the indie market stalls in the Barbican foyer present a refreshing alterative to high street fare.

Indie kicks
Whether you're on the lookout for houseware, clothes, art, jewellery, food or cards, the Duckie Christmas Market aims to be your one stop shop for the retro, unique and downright kitsch. Bringing together the very best in DIY designers, thrifty hawkers and community artists, the market stalls provide all the inspiration you need for the perfect Christmas present for you and yours.

Gift market
Transforming the Barbican foyer into a mini treasure trove with contributions from cult craftspeople and underground artists, the Duckie Christmas Market offers a much needed dose of seasonal cheer to those whose spirits are already flagging. Alongside the market stalls, there's the occasional impromptu performance and interactive workshop to enjoy.

The opening times for the Duckie Christmas Market are as follows:

6pm - 9.30pm

20th - 23rd December

Please note that the market is not open on 12th December, 19th December, 24th - 26th December and 31st December.

The Duckie Christmas Market is open from Saturday 10th December - Friday 30th December 2011. Admission is free.
