The Ealing Jazz Festival returns for another summer of live jazz in London this July and August, featuring a huge line up of acts and special guests. Audiences can expect summer days of thrilling live jazz at a prestigious music event.
A history of jazz in EalingThe Ealing Jazz Festival first took place as a low key local event in 1985. From humble beginnings it has grown into the biggest free jazz festival in Europe, regularly attracting all manner of acclaimed jazz artists. 2009 is expected to be one of the biggest yet, with a string of artists ready to take to the stage in Ealing.
Live jazzHighlight performances for 2009 include the Adrian Macintosh Quintet, Claire Davies, Xantone Blacq and Ray Gelato on the main stage. The Crypt stage will see the likes of the Bar Tent Duo, the Chicho Chagas Quartet and the Hot Orange Big Band, all contributing to what promises to be another fantastic Ealing Jazz Festival. This year you can expect a whole spectrum of jazz styles to be served up on a menu of top live music, featuring a who’s who of contemporary jazz musicians.
Join the funJazz fans will not want to miss the chance to get involved with a toe-tapping, finger snapping live music event, promising something special for the summer. Dozens of acts will be headlining on the main stage and second stage, treating the crowds to a five day festival of jazzy sounds.
Twenty five years and counting2009 is the 25th anniversaty of the Ealing Jazz Festival, heralding more than a few generations of jazz in London and the UK. Visitors can get to grips with what’s new in the world of jazz whilst paying respects to a rich history of music in London.
The Ealing Jazz Festival 2009 takes place at Walpole Park, Ealing, from Wednesday 29th July – Sunday 2nd August. Performances start at 6pm on Wednesday 29th July, 5pm on Thursday 30th July, and 1pm on Friday 31st July, Saturday 1st August and Sunday 2nd August 2009.The festival costs £1.00 to attend, and children are 12 are free.
