Easter at London Wetland Centre

Children visiting during Easter at London Wetland Centre will be able to take part in a special event all abour herons, as part of a London wide celebration of the species. Kids can meet Mr Heron and find out how he lives and what he eats. Egg Watch will be back again for the Easter weekend as some Indian Runner Ducks are due to hatch around the time. On view in their incubator from the 18th March, you could be there just in time to see some of the ducklings hatch out of their shells. The Easter weekend egg watches take place at 1pm. Kids are also invited back to the centre from the 5th April onwards to meet the ducklings as they get bigger.

There will also be a special visit from Sir Rabbit who will be hopping about the London Wetland Centre with some yummy Easter gifts to treat the kids to. Arts and crafts activities will also be taking place during Easter at London Wetland Centre, as kids can take inspiration from the ducklings and other hatching birds in the centre.

Easter at London Wetland Centre is also one of the best times to see the wildlife as the increasing temperatures entice Sand Martins, Little-ringed Plovers and warblers to return to the UK to breed. Wildflowers such as Daffodil, Cowslip and Marsh Marigold are in flower and Slow worms and Common Lizard can be seen basking in quieter areas of the reserve.
