Easter at Natural History Museum

Four special events take place during Easter at Natural History Museum, giving kids and adults alike an insight into everything we associate with Easter. From Easter Island to the anatomy of the egg, there is plenty to learn about this spring holiday.

Kicking off on Good Friday, you are invited to learn all about Easter Island, so called as it was discovered on Easter Sunday in 1722. Famous for the giant Moai statues that inhabit the island, it is also full of a variety of fascinating flora and fauna. This talk takes place at 12:30pm and 2:30pm.

Chocolate is something we all associate with Easter, and thanks to the Aztecs we have been able to eat this delicious goody for around 3,000 years. Discover the origins of our favourite sweet treat and see how it was made thousands of years ago on Saturday 22nd March. This talk takes place at 12:30pm and 2:30pm.

Easter Sunday is the day when kids can get crafty for Easter at Natural History Museum. Make and decorate a selection of special Easter gifts and take them home afterwards. The Easter crafts take place at 11:30am and 2:30pm. Please note that this session is open to museum members only and booking is required. Phone 020 7942 5792 for more information.

Find out all about the perfect egg with the talk on Easter Monday. From the biggest to the smallest, all eggs are masterpieces of design that enable the chick inside to grow and feed until they are ready to face the outside world. This talk takes place at 12:30pm and 2:30pm.
