Looking for the perfect Easter eggs? London has some fantastic chocolatiers that have created the most amazing and delicious chocolate eggs that will satisfy even the fussiest of egg eaters. Check out the list below for some seriously chocolaty indugent Easter treats.
HarrodsThe place to get the ultimate Easter egg in London is surely the granddaddy of all department stores, Harrods. Choose from 10 different chocolatiers from all over the world, or if that's not quite indulgent enough for you, there's always the giant eggs and bunnies. The largest Easter egg is over a metre high and weighs in at 5kg!
CarlucciosNot renowned for selling Easter eggs in London, Carluccios have created some very pretty sweet Easter treats for 2008. Along with traditional Italian Easter cakes and liquorice fish, chocolate fans will be delighted to recieve the Uovo Magnifico which is the mother of all Easter eggs. All 550g of it comes wrapped in multi coloured ribbon and contains mini fruit bon bons.
Kids can also get their hands on an even more impressive egg for their school, by entering the Easter egg design competition. The winner will be announced on the 19th March and the kids can stuff their angelic chops with 3kg of chocolate the next day. Simply get your little one to fill out the special card with their design and drop it into the store before the closing date of the 18th March.
GodivaRenowned for their sumptuous chocolate and simmply divine truffles, you can treat someone with an eye for fashion with the Godiva beaded egg. Covered in pretty colourful beads, the egg spilts open Faberge style to reveal 15 delicious chocolate eggs, so you can have your egg and eat it!
NeuhausNehaus is the home of the delicious Belgian pralines and for Easter 2008 they have simply divine eggs in store. Mini praline eggs flavoured with salted caramel or crunchy praline biscuit, handbags filled with coloured eggs, and bespoke hampers full of delicious chocolate treats such as the crafted chocolate figures for the discerning chocoholic.
There are also two Easter egg decorating workshops for those that want to get hands on. Using the finest chocolate of your choice, the master chocoltier will show you how to cover the nougatine egg and create the perfect Easter gift. SelfridgesAnother great one for those that like the personal touch, this is the place to make your own Easter eggs. Selfridges is hosting two Easter egg workshops on 22nd and 23rd March in the food hall. Or if your attempt is not as good as you thought it would be, there are plenty of professionally made eggs to buy instead.
Fortnum and MasonFortnum and Mason is the place to go for classic Easter eggs in London, as the store has a wonderful selection of family sized and single person eggs to get your Easter going. Champagne truffle, caramel, rose and violet and a favourites selection make for pretty pickings. And for the little ones, try the organic milk egg filled with chocolate animals or the speckled eggs in a jar.
Those with a large appetite will be keen to get their hands on one of the Easter egg hampers, ranging from the Egg Hunt, the Easter Morning, the Champagne and Egg to the Egg and Spoon race, there is bound to be something to appeal.
Lindt Easter WonderlandYou may not find any Easter eggs at the London Eye, but there will be plenty of Easter bunnies there. Raising awareness for Childline, Lindt has created an Easter wonderland along the water front around the London Eye where you can have a taste of the Lindt gold bunny in return for a donation to the child's charity. The Easter Wonderland is open from the 11th to 24th March.
