An exhibition entitled Eco Home at Geffrye Museum looks at the ways in which becoming eco friendly has become part and parcel of the design of our homes and their contents.

Reduce, reuse and recycle
As climate change has an impact on everyone on the planet, more and more politicians and experts are putting pressure on us to reuse, reduce and recycle, both in home and out. Examining the ways in which we can all continue to improve the amount of waste we produce and which small changes we can make a fresh, Eco Home at Geffrye Museum is a thought provoking show for anyone interested in making a difference.

Green energy
Saving water and electricity have long been on the agenda, but new and unusual ways of using renewable resources are introduced all the time. Focusing on how green issues have enterted the home, Eco Home at Geffrye Museum looks at old favourites and brand new products on the marketplace.

Diversity in design
If you think that eco friendly designs have to be made from old loo rolls and second hand jumpers, then you would be wrong. New and exciting designs are coming to the fore from designers committed to using recycled or energy friendly materials, meaning that the Eco Home can be chic as well as responsible.

Eco exhibition
Eco Home at Geffrye Museum isn't just about showing off stylish new products - there is also a stark reminder as to what happens to waste that we produce and exactly how that impacts on the planet. Visitors will be able to follow the life cycle of a chair, from its construction, through to its repair and the biodegradable nature of its components. So if you are one of those people who forgets to recycle your cardboard or throws away things that could easily be fixed, this is the exhibition for you.

Eco Home at Geffrye Museum takes place from 10am - 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday, from Tuesday 13th October 2009 - Sunday 7th February 2010.
