The annual Experimental Food Society Spectacular exhibition takes place in October as foodies, chefs, artists and diners come together for one amazing epicurean adventure. Featuring culinary delights to delight the eye and tease the palate, the exhibition includes work from a vast range of people skilled in all areas of cookery and food artistry.
Experimental Food Society Spectacular exhibition
From food magicians, cake artists, butter sculptors and food model makers to sonic food artists and dining conceptualists, this event is a truly spectacular exhibition set to indulge all those with a love of food. Whether you are a dedicated fan of Lily Vanilli and her beautiful bakery, or want to learn some fascinating facts from a food futurologist, this is set to be one of the most indulgent food events of the year.
Food, art and performance
Visitors to the Experimental Food Society Spectacular exhibition will be treated to the delights of interactive exhibits, the chance to sample the edible art on show and even watch in amazement as the foodie artists go about constructing their culinary creations. You will also be able to pick up recipes and tips for more experimental cookery ideas, and even sample some camel milk ice cream at Ginger's Comfort Emporium, available for the first time in the UK.
Exhibition highlights
With over eight and a half square feet of culinary art on show, there's bound to be something to interest and delight even the most seasoned foodie. Highlights include eight of the world's strangest foods from adventurer Stefan Gates, the chance to watch gastronomic tailor Emily Crane at work, plus exhibits from Bougie Macaron, Lady Greys, Marawa the Amazing, The Curious Confectioner and Michelle Sugar Art.
Grand finale banquet
Celebrating the finest foods and the most creative food artists, the finale of the Experimental Food Society Spectacular exhibition takes the form of a full scale banquet at The Folly. 160 diners will take part in the multisensory dining experience, with a five course, wild themed menu designed by Andrian Pseneac, the head chef at The Folly. The banquet takes place from 7pm - 11pm on Sunday 23rd October, and tickets cost £60.00.
The Experimental Food Society Spectacular exhibition takes place at the Dray Walk Gallery from Friday 21st October - Saturday 22nd October 2011. Opening hours are 1pm - 6pm on Friday and 11am - 6pm on Saturday. Tickets for the exhibition are £5.00.
