Get in the mood for Christmas with a trip to the 300 square metre Eye-Skate London ice rink at The London Eye. The iconic observation wheel is hosting its seasonal ice rink on the South Bank over Christmas 2011.
Ice skating season
For many, ice skating has become as popular a Christmas tradition as carol singing, mulled wine and decorating the Christmas tree, and for the 2011 festive period there's one of the city's most popular ice rink is making a welcome return. The Eye-Skate London rink is being set up once again beneath the famous landmark of The London Eye, on the banks of the Thames.
Get your skates on
If the thought of heading out onto the ice with your friends and family and doing your best Bambi on skates impression sounds like your idea of a rollicking good time, then grab yourself some tickets for the Eye-Skate London ice rink and prepare to get slip sliding away under the brightly lit London Eye. Each ice skating session lasts for 45 minutes, which is more than enough time to get to grips with the basics and start believing that you look just like Torvill or Dean.
Cinema screenings
As well as giving you the chance to get fully in the mood for Christmas by doing a few laps of the ice rink, Eye-Skate London tickets also grant you entry into The London Eye's state of the art cinema, The London Eye 4D Experience. Watch a short 3D film screening and marvel at the sensory special effects that create the feel of wind in your hair and falling snow.
