Disney classic
First released over 70 years ago to critical acclaim, Walt Disney's marriage of enchanting animation and stirring symphonic music remains one of the studio's most famous titles, and now fans have the chance to see the UK premiere of Fantasia Live at Royal Albert Hall. The concert features some of the most memorable classical music from the films, as well as high definition screenings of the original Disney footage.

Classical music
Highlights of the music programme include live performances of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Suite, Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony and Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. The performances of Fantasia Live at Royal Albert Hall give families the chance to introduce their children to live orchestral music, while older classical music fans can revisit some of their favourite works in a fresh and exciting way.

Iconic images
Some of the footage to be screened in high definition during Fantasia Live at Royal Albert Hall includes the famous sequence where Mickey Mouse tries his hand at magic, set to Dukas' The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Kids and animation fans of all ages can also watch as unicorns and winged horses sweep across the screen, accompanied by Beethoven.

London Philharmonic Orchestra
The live music at the Disney concert is supplied by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by John Mauceri. The critically acclaimed orchestra has recorded soundtracks for blockbuster films such as The Lord of the Rings trilogy and has been the Royal Festival Hall's resident orchestra since 1992, so you can look forward to a polished performance from musicians at the top of their game.
