Fathers Day is virtually upon us. And, if this takes you by surprise or you had forgotten the exact date then we’re here to tell you that Sunday 21st June is the one to remember. Often it doesn’t get anywhere near as much attention as Mothers Day – but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty going on for Fathers Day in London with which to remind your dad that he’s done a good job with you and you’re grateful.

Pants in the ParkPulling your pants on over your trousers may not seem like the most stylish way to dress but it is almost certainly mandatory for the prostate cancer charity run taking place on Fathers Day 2009. Whether you want to run with the pant-wearers or simply watch them go by, Battersea Park is the place to do it.
Taste of LondonTreat the your food loving dad on Fathers Day with a trip to the Tate of London festival at Regents Park, with gourmet stalls from some of the most popular restauratns in London.
Motor ExpoThe Motor Expo London is the UK’s largest free motor show and features a wide range of the world’s most recent (not to say finest) cars and bikes. Taking place from 8th to 14th June, it’s a perfect spot to visit for an early Fathers Day in London. There will be a number of first UK showings with all kinds of cool cars being seen on these shores for the very first time.
Cricket at the OvalIf your dad is the sporting type (or just likes to escape the house) then this is an excellent event to take him to on Fathers Day. Taking place at the Oval, you can expect to see some excellent cricket matches between some of the world's best cricketing teams.
Henry VIIITake your dad out for a day out to see just what Henry VIII was all about at the Dressed to Kill exhibition at the Tower of London, which displays the impressive armour and weaponry of the notorious Tudor king. Or for the more literary fathers out there, the British Library is displaying many of the personal books and letters of Henry VIII in an exhibition guest curated by David Starkey.
Music FestivalOne of the coolest events for Fathers Day in London surely has to be the Meltdown Festival at Southbank Centre, organised this year by the acclaimed saxophonist Ornette Coleman who will be playing on Fathers Day itself.
City of London FestivalAnother top event for boys that love their music. The music festival will make for a very special Fathers Day with live performances from musicians from all around the world.
West End LiveIs your dad a fan of all the razzle dazzle of the West End? Take him to West End Live at Leicester Square on Fathers Day for a chance to see some of the top musicals and West End producions free.
Wimbledon 2009The first day of this exciting annual tennis tournament takes place on the day after Fathers Day this year, and tickets for Wimbledon 2009 are predictably very hot property. If your Dad loves his tennis, you can do no better than to treat him to a day out on the courts.
Go to the British Music ExperienceThe acclaimed music and culture extravaganza at the O2 is offering free Father's Day tickets to all dads on Sunday 21st June. All you have you to do is purchase one child or adult ticket and your dad gets one for free.
