Filminute Festival at Selfridges

Short shorts are the theme of the Filminute festival at Selfridges throughout September as the one minute film festival takes over the Ultralounge. Back for the third year, Filminute brings you the very best national and international one minute films in the world's largest film festival.

More than 90 countries saw two million individual screenings in the Filminute festival last year, and 2008 will see the global festival increase in size by a phenomenal amount. Not only is Selfridges the location for the screenings, but viewers can access the entries into the festival online too, meaning that everyone in the world can take part. Originally purely an online festival, you can now catch all the best one minute flicks on screen with as the Filminute festival at Selfridges takes place.

Screening in the Ultralounge and on the Wonder Wall until the 19th October 2008, the Filminute festival at Selfridges brings together filmmakers and fans from all over the globe in this celebration of short films. Specially created for the digital age, more than 100 countries will participate in the festival, viewing up to 10 million minutes of footage from this years festival, both in store and online.

Filminute 2008 has longlisted over 1,500 films and now the very best 25 have been creamed from the crop and these entries will be on screen at Selfridges for you to see and cast your vote on. Selected from 16 different countries, including Canada, China, Finland, India, Iran, Romania, Russia, Spain, the UK, and the US. New entries for the top 25 in 2008 come from Hungary, Iceland, Korea, Scotland, Serbia and Slovakia.

With the announcements of the Best Filminute prize and the People's Choice winner on Sunday 12th October, there is plenty of time to see all the screenings in the Filminute festival at Selfridges and make your choice.

The Filminute festival at Selfridges are screening in the Ultralounge on the lower ground floor from 1st - 21st September 2008. The screenings are on show on the Wonder wall, in the ground floor from 7th September - 19th October 2008.
