I have been to this place 3 times. Once with a group birthday and twice as it was included in a last minute deal with the theatre tickets. Each of the 3 times the pizza I had was bad! The worst of the lot was a Christmas pizza. It would probably help If the chefs actually tried anything they made. It had cranberry as a base, instead of tomato, and it was far too overpowering. The turley also was like processed turkey. Avoid!

Atmosphere downstairs is a little like a fast food restaurant, upstairs is more inviting. Menu was good, service acceptable, but the pizzas were very disappointing and the portions were small. In particular, the pizza bases were not the delicious ones that only wood ovens can produce – they were more like supermarket bases heated in a conventional oven – a little dry, quite sweet and not very exciting. Not to our tastes, and certainly not living up to the hype, won’t be going back.

Stay clear. The pizzas are over fussy, not that tasty and a little on the small side. The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired, a cavernous souless affair. One plus point however, the service was good.

My husband and i went here on Friday 7th Nov for a meal as i had read all the reviews that said how nice it is.

We were 10 mins late for our table at 7, and were told we would have to leave our table by 9 which is ok as we knew we had a 2 hour slot, but the lady wasn't that polite in telling us!

We ordered our starter and both asked for the same thing but only 1 came out and they thought we had only asked for 1! We just shared it!

When our pizza's came out they were really tasty but luke warm, we just ate them! Then we had a dessert and the man that served them had a not very clean plaster on his thumb which put us off straight away, and it wasn't blue, may sound petty but it looked disgusting!

My husband asked to speak to the manager and explained, she said she was very sorry and she would get us fresh desserts.
When the bill came it was for what we had ordered and the service charge, we said to the girl that is wasn't her but we didn't want to pay the service charge and explained why, the manager came back over and apologised and said she would remove the desserts from our bill, and amend the service charge, then the new bill still had the service charge, so we just paid it minus the service.

it was a shame as i was really looking forward to eating here, i am sorry to say, i wouldn't go back!

came here during a lunch-time a while back and thought the pizzas were original and tastey. my morrocan style pizza made a difference to a usual pepperoni or margarita style one. the service was average; not rude, didn't have to wait long, nothing amazing (but then i quite like it when the waiting staff let you get on with it). wasn't drinking at the time so can't comment on the price of alcohol but food was part of a price deal they were doing. main piece of advice is try this place out during lunch if they are still doing the deal!

Great for a group of friends of a quick pre-theatre meal, think Wagamamas but with pizza.
Really interesting toppings, don't be tempted to share one as I did though, although they are a good size, you'll definately want your own!

On Wednesday night at 7pm, the atmosphere in Fire and Stone was already buzzing. On their menu, a vast choice of pizza toppings are categorised by continent - the Athena was gorgeous and generously topped with roasted red pepper puree, chopped fresh tomatoes, spinach, feta, toasted pine nuts and a big dollop of fresh pesto in the middle. The house red (French) was too cold, although still drinkable, the service was laidback but friendly and the prices affordable. The only surprise was the calamari which tasted like skinny scampi! Fire & Stone is a great place - good for a party. Ace but confusing toilets too!

I went to Fire & Stone with a friend for dinner on a Wednesday night as I had heard it was nice. Unfortunately I was so disappointed. The restaurant was busy but the food was mediocre and the service was absolutely appalling - we waited nearly 15 minutes before our drinks order was taken, then had to go and ask to order food. The waiting staff were all over the place too - no one ever asked if the food was ok or if we wanted anything else. At the end of the meal no one cleared our plates and we had to ask three times for the bill. Next time, I'll stick to Pizza Express and not bother with Fire & Stone!
