Ten years of Flamenco in London
Last years festival saw the 75th year of Frederico Garcia Lorca's death, and the 2012 Flamenco Festival London hosted a special gala to celebrate the life and work of the iconic Spanish dramatist and poet. A high profile figure in the avant garde Generation of '27 movement, Garcia Lorca is believed to have been assassinated by an anti-communist death squad at the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in 1936, and has since been regarded as one of the most influential poets of the 20th century. 2013 marks the 10th anniversary of the festival and in honour of this, the event is featuring eight productions in the main house and another two in the Lilian Baylos Studio.
