French Events at Old Spitalfields Market

Pop on your most Gallic looking beret and experience a taste of France with the French events at Old Spitalfields Market. A French boules green will be installed every Wednesday in May 2009, and there will also be plenty of delicious food and drink to sample as well.

French events at Old Spitalfields Market
Free and open to anyone who wants a game, the temporary boules green will be open as part of the French events at Old Spitalfields Market from 11am - 6pm on Wednesday 13th, 20th and 27th May 2009. Up to 18 players can play on the three pitches at any one time, so if you feel like a spot of French style relaxation during your lunchbreak or as time out from shopping, then limber up and prepare to knock your opponents' balls off target in a bid to win the game.

French food and drink
As well as the games of boules, there is also plenty of traditional food and drink from France available as part of the French events at Old Spitalfields Market in May 2009. French restaurant Le Bouchon Breton will be serving up some authentic Gallic cuisine, and Crepeaffaire will also be offering sweet and savoury crepes, which can be enjoyed on the open terraces overlooking the boules green.

French brasserie Le Bouchon Breton will be serving up a selection of delicious seafood platters during celebration of France at Old Spitalfields Market, with grilled sardines, sea bass, calamari and razor clams on the menu. There is also a set menu inspired by Provence available for £30.00.
