Young films fans will be chomping at the bit to attend the Future Film Festival at BFI Southbank, a weekend of films, workshops and talks designed to entertain and inspire. With help and advice on everything from writing your own script to operating a camera and directing a scene, the festival aims to nurture the filmmaking potential of 15 - 25 year olds and encourage the next generation of talent within the British film industry.
Future Film Festival
With special screenings to whet your appetite for the fresh batch of films to hit UK cinemas this year, the Future Film Festival aims to get you fully clued up on what's hot and happening for 2012. Cutting edge shorts made by and for young people and a review of some of the best films of last year are bound to keep you on the edge of your seat as well as giving you plenty of ideas for films of your own.
Star guests
Filmmakers from the international film and television industry will be giving special talks at the Future Film Festival, where budding filmmakers can learn everything they need to know about how to make the most of blogging and how to create a short that stands out from the crowd. A number of high profile figures will be making appearances throughout the festival and at the Future Film Awards, which celebrate the next generation of exciting filmmakers.
Workshops
Covering almost every aspect and stage of filmmaking including pitching your idea, storyboarding, costume design, working with a special effects green screen, film distribution and networking, the festival at BFI Southbank aims to arm you with all the skills and knowledge you'll need to work in the television and film industry. And as the BFI Southbank festival passes start from just £5.00, you can afford to attend even if your film - and life in general - is operating on a strict shoestring budget.
The Future Film Festival at BFI Southbank runs from Saturday 18th February - Sunday 19th February 2012. For 15 - 18 year olds, a one day festival pass costs £5.00, while a two day pass costs £8.00. For 19 - 25 years olds, festival passes cost £10.00 - £15.00. For a full timetable of events and booking information, follow the link below.
