Ever wondered about the phrase Step we gaily on we go, in reference to ceilidh dancing? Well the Gay Gordons hold Scottish country dancing classes every Thursday night in Islington that will allow you to find out.

Started by Daniel Capron and John Tyler in September 2005, the Gay Gordons London ceilidh classes are the only gay and lesbian Scottish country dancing group in the city.

The Gay Gordons London ceilidh classes will help you to learn different Scottish dances and then put your new found skills into practice at one of their Geilidhs (like a ceilidh but more gay) in various locations around London. An evening typically consists of a short burst of tuition about the dance, be it the Dashing White Sergeant or the Eightsome Reel, and then everyone has a go at it.

You don’t have to be a supremo on the dance floor to attend the Gay Gordons London ceilidh classes, as they welcome both dancers and non-dancers to their lessons. Neither do you have to be gay to dance with the Gay Gordons, but you should come prepared to dance with partners of either sex.

Venue: Unity Church Hall, 279 Upper Street
Nearest tube: Angel
