Get in the mood for a party as Gay Pride hits the streets of London once more!
Gay Pride 2008The 5th July 2008 will see Pride London offer a day of festivities to celebrate the 36th Anniversary of the Gay Pride march. There will be the famous parade leaving from Oxford Street at midday. With a football tournament and the best in music and comedy also running, Gay Pride 2008 looks set to be a corker.
Gay paradeThe Parade will include 40 floats interspersed with marching groups, dancing groups, bands and thousands of other participants. With expected crowds of up to 500,000 Gay Pride 2008 is going to be huge.
Pride entertainmentFollowing the Pride Parade an afternoon of entertainment, speakers, community stalls and music will take place in Trafalgar Square at the Main Stage with entertainment from some top quality acts. Ian Mckellan will be kicking off proceedings, there will be a performance from the Pink Singers, plus special appearances from the Mayor of London and some live performances from Sandi Thom, Culture Beat, dance vocalist Shena, and Amrick Channa from Hed Kandi
Cabaret highlightsAt 3pm Soho will play host to Pride London's Women Stage. This popular stage boasts an impressive selection of female DJs, comedians and bands which are sure to entertain. Over at Leicester Square is the Cabaret Stage, with highlights in previous years including the likes of the King of the Castle dancers and comedian Shelley Cooper, you can be guaranteed a fantastic line up for Gay Pride 2008.
