Gay Pride 2009
Saturday 4th July 2009 will see Pride London offer a day of festivities to celebrate the 37th Anniversary of the Gay Pride march. The famous parade leaves from Baker Street at 1pm, then heads down Oxford Street and Regent Street before ending up in Piccadilly and Trafalgar Square. With a full on street party and the best in music and comedy also running, the 2009 Pride London parade looks set to be a corker.

Gay parade
The parade will include around 40 floats interspersed with marching groups, dancing groups, bands and thousands of other participants. With expected crowds of up to 500,000, Gay Pride 2009 is going to be huge.

Pride entertainment
Following the Pride Parade an afternoon of entertainment, speakers, community stalls and music will take place from 3pm in Trafalgar Square at the Main Stage with entertainment from some top quality acts. Last year saw Ian Mckellan kick off proceedings, with a performance from the Pink Singers, plus special appearances from the Mayor of London and some live performances from Sandi Thom, Culture Beat, dance vocalist Shena, and Amrick Channa from Hed Kandi. The line up for 2009 is yet to be confirmed but rest assured it should be every bit as impressive.

Cabaret highlights
The 2008 event also saw Soho playing host to Pride London's Women Stage. This popular stage boasted an impressive selection of female DJs, comedians and bands on hand to entertain at what was one of the highlights of the Pride day. There was also the Cabaret Stage in Leicester Square, and although full details are yet to be confirmed, you can be guaranteed a fantastic line up for Pride London parade and party in 2009.
